Embedded Racism in the Law Series
A Discussion on the Disparate Impact of COVID-19 on People of Color

Thursday, February 25, 2021 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

The Diversity Committee at Vermont Law School presents an Embedded Racism in the Law panel discussion titled, "A Discussion on the Disparate Impact of COVID-19 on People of Color" on Thursday, February 25 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. ET.

People of color are disproportionately affected by COVID-19. They have tested positive for the disease at higher rates and suffered more adverse health impacts from it than their white counterparts. This national trend also exists in Vermont. Join the Diversity Committee at VLS to explore and discuss these disparities.

Panelists include:

Dr. Maria Mercedes Avila, PH.D, MSW, MED
Associate Professor of Pediatrics at University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine

Professor Mark Latham
Professor of Law, Environmental Law Center at Vermont Law School

Professor Wendy E. Parmet

Director, Center for Health Policy and Law at Northeastern University School of Law

Dr. Don Bambino Geno Tai, MD, MBA
