Support VLS

Student Volunteers

As a current student at Vermont Law School, your insight, enthusiasm, and energy are assets to our work at the Offices for Alumni Relations and Development. The gift of your time is invaluable to us—a small team working to strengthen our alumni community, foster the spirit of philanthropy, and develop economic resources for the institution. Consider the following opportunities, and let us know if you'd like to volunteer. Email us at

  • Write thank you notes; few things are more meaningful to a donor than a heartfelt, handwritten thank you from a student at the institution they support.
  • Write a "year in review" report that we can share with Leaders' Circle and President's Society members—our most generous and reliable donors.
  • Write an article that we can include in our biweekly newsletter to alumni and Trustees.
  • Work with our development team to craft a fundraising appeal from a student perspective.

  • Help us update our alumni database using current LinkedIn information.
  • Research potential alumni event locations around the country.

Communications / Social Media

  • Scan archival photographs for use on social media platforms.
  • Produce content for the LinkedIn alumni affinity group pages.
  • Take photos of campus life for us to share on our social media platforms.
  • Create a digital online yearbook for your class.
  • Scan and format archival yearbooks as PDFs, accessible for downloading.

  • Attend alumni events on or around VLS campus, and "meet and greet" with alumni.
  • Sign up with an alumni mentor and foster a meaningful relationship with a VLS graduate.
  • Serve as an ambassador for our office: Field questions from students and disseminate information about volunteer and engagement opportunities, and upcoming events.
