The Class of 1976 won the Reunion Giving Challenge, which ended on Friday evening, June 17, 2016. With over sixteen-percent participation rate in class giving, the Class of 1976 showed its VLS class pride in full force.
We are thrilled to announce that the first $50,000 raised was matched by a generous alumnus. We are grateful for the generosity and spirit with which all Reunion year alumni participated in this campaign. Every gift counted, and we couldn't have done it with you. Thank you!
The class with the highest participation rate in giving (number of gifts/number of alumni in class) was recognized at the Reunion Award Ceremony during Homecoming Weekend.
All gifts received from July 1, 2015 to Friday, June 17, 2016 counted toward class Reunion Giving Challenge totals. June 17 was the first full day of Reunion 2016 and we counted every gift received up until the close of Friday night’s festivities. Every new gift, cash or pledge, to the Fund for VLS counted alumni in.
Alumni participation rates are incredibly important to VLS, and have a direct impact on our finances and mission. Most directly, a robust alumni giving program allows Vermont Law School to offer students competitive financial aid packages, to provide student services, and to attract and retain quality faculty and staff.
In addition, U.S. News & World Report tabulates alumni participation in some of its rankings; and some important donors perceive participation rates as an indicator of alumni satisfaction (which, they feel, directly correlates to the strength of the degree program).
*Includes all gifts and pledges received since July 1, 2015.
