Recently retired, David Martini now lives on Lake Champlain in Panton, VT after working 40 years in healthcare law. Over the course of his career he held several positions, including an assistant general counsel of a teaching hospital system and general counsel of a large medical malpractice insurer. He also assumed other leadership roles as senior vice president and general counsel of an international third-party benefits administrator, which runs self-funded health plans for corporations and the Office of Personnel Management in Washington, DC. His work also included devising a plan for the retirees of the Panama Canal Zone. Returning to Vermont in 2007, David worked for the Department of Banking, Insurance, Securities, and Healthcare, which is now the Department of Financial Regulation, until he retired in 2019.
