Dr. Robertson serves as president and chief executive officer of the University College of the Cayman Islands. He has more than twenty-five years of experience leading award-winning organizations in the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors. He has served as a business faculty member, MBA director, dean of business, vice president of academic affairs and the first president of the Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute. His work experience includes teaching in Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Slovenia, Canada, the United States, and the Caribbean.
He holds a Doctorate in Management and Organization (Stirling University, Scotland); Master of Studies in Environmental Law - Cum Laude (Vermont Law School); Master of Public Administration (Dalhousie University, Canada); Post Graduate Diploma in International Management (University of London); Post Graduate Certificate in Conflict Resolution (Queen Margaret University, Scotland); Graduate Diploma in International Development (London School of Economics and Political Science); Executive Certificate, Innovation and Strategy (Massachusetts Institute of Technology); and, Executive Certificate, Leadership and Negotiation (Harvard University).
In 2016, Dr. Robertson was named a Fulbright Specialist by the U.S. Department of State, and an Emerging Leader in the Americas by Global Affairs Canada. In 2022, he was named a senior research fellow with the School of Advanced Studies, University of London. He has published more than 65 peer-reviewed articles and books primarily on education, strategic planning, quality management, and workforce development.
He is a member of the editorial board the Florida Political Chronicle, a peer-reviewed journal published by the Florida Political Science Association. Dr. Robertson is also a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow.
