Volunteer

There are many ways to support Vermont Law School—financial support is always greatly appreciated, but the gift of your time is invaluable. We hope you will consider following in the footsteps of hundreds of alumni who have volunteered for departments throughout campus.

VLS Alumni Association

You don't have to be on the Board of Directors to actively work on alumni issues. Alumni are encouraged to join one of the VLSAA subcommittees which assist in the formation of regional groups; support the Career Services Office; coordinate events, publications, and communications with the Alumni Office; or increase alumni participation in our unrestricted annual giving program. Contact one of the VLSAA committee chairs for more information.

Admissions

If you are from a recent class, you can help VLS by receiving calls from accepted JD and MELP applicants who live in your region. This is especially helpful to applicants who live too far from Vermont to attend Visiting Days. We will provide you with a recent catalog, copies of the materials which all accepted applicants receive, and a list of applicants' phone numbers from your geographic region. Contact us to become an Admissions volunteer.

Career Services

The Career Services Office schedules Career Fairs and Career Boot Camps which offer graduates an opportunity to strut their stuff. These are informational only; students are not interviewed for specific jobs or internships. At the Career Fairs, tables are set up for different career options where grads and students talk informally about the graduates' practice areas. Past features like the "Life After Law School" panel and the Public Interest Career Fair were very popular. At Boot Camp, alumni conduct mock interviews, answer questions, and give tips to future advocates. Contact us to volunteer for Career Services.

Appellate Advocacy/Moot Court

The Legal Writing Program is always looking for alumni to serve as coaches and judges for our five yearly moot court competitions and the annual 2L Appellate Advocacy arguments. Contact us for more information about being an Appellate Advocacy or Moot Court volunteer.

Alumni Office

The Alumni Office needs volunteers to serve as class secretaries, Reunion Committee members, and as mentors to GOLD alumni, recent graduates, and 3L students. Contact us to get involved.

Thanks!
