Priorities & Projects

Vermont Law School carefully reviews the financial needs of every program on campus as well as larger institutional priorities, such as campus construction and endowment growth, when setting its fundraising goals. The educational opportunities and campus spaces made possible by our philanthropic donors foster interaction among students and faculty and inspire excellent work. Our current priorities and projects include the following:

Annual Giving

The Annual Fund is a critical source of funding for academic and extracurricular student programs, financial aid, faculty salaries, and building operations. Each year, alumni and friends of the school contribute about $500,000 to the Annual Fund, allowing VLS to finance day-to-day operations as well as unexpected costs and opportunities.

Alan Panebaker '11 Memorial Fund

Gifts to the Alan Panebaker Memorial Fund will permanently honor Alan by naming the student workroom in the Environmental and Natural Resources Law Clinic in Alan's memory.

Justice Denise Johnson Tribute Fund

Gifts to the Justice Denise Johnson Tribute Fund will designate a prominent space in the South Royalton Legal Clinic as a lasting tribute to Vermont's first female justice on the VT Supreme Court.

Planned Giving

Planned gifts provide resources that allow incredible opportunities and preserve our future. Gift types include life-income opportunities and other financial planning arrangements that can be beneficial to both the donor and the law school.

Class Gift

The Class of 2014 has chosen to build a riverfront Gazebo to commemorate the resilience of the community in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Irene. An impressive fundraising goal of $30,000 will support Vermont Law School’s newest structure.
