Samara Anderson

Vermont Representative

Samara Anderson hails from an agricultural farm on the White Earth Indian Reservation in Mahnomen, Minnesota. She can drive any piece of machinery, but doesn't have the green thumb required to be a successful farmer. She resides in Montpelier, VT and hopes to own her own farm in Vermont someday. Currently, she is walking the mindful tightrope between being a lawyer and a yoga teacher. As a lawyer she represents the State of Vermont in complex technology projects with the goal of upgrading from antiquated computer systems from the 1980s to determine eligibility for health and human services benefit programs. As a yoga teacher, she focuses on the therapeutic value of yoga to heal both the body and the mind in classes for Montpelier and South Strafford community members, injured (or injury curious) runners in Albany, New York and stressed students at Vermont Law School. She also teaches mindful practices for professionals workshops to lawyers, healthcare professionals and police officers: three high stress professions that require awareness to be efficient and healthy. Email Samara.
