Fall 2024 Vermont Law Review Symposium – "Safeguarding Tomorrow"
Part Four

Thursday, October 10, 2024 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM

This symposium focuses on legal challenges and innovative solutions to protect our most vulnerable population: children. It will be held as a four-part lunch series on the following dates:

  • Thursday, September 19: Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) – Exploring the impact of recent Supreme Court decisions on ICWA and its long-term implications for Native American children and tribal sovereignty.

  • Thursday, September 26: Artificial Intelligence (AI) – Examining the current landscape and future directions of legal and ethical frameworks addressing AI-generated child abuse material in the U.S.

  • Thursday, October 3: LGBTQ+ Rights – Safeguarding the rights and well-being of LGBTQ+ youth.

  • Thursday, October 10: Labor Law – Examining child labor laws and protections for working youth involved in social media. Watch the livestream by clicking here.

The event will feature esteemed guest panelists for each discussion, offering unique and valuable insights on these critical topics. Alumni are encouraged to attend in person or stream the event live via vermontlaw.edu/live.
